Positions Available as of March 1, 2008:
Animal Care Specialist:
Primary Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain the kennels and facilities
- Provide animals with adequate food and water on a daily basis
- Examine, vaccinate and tag animals
- Observe animals to ensure proper feeding and report any signs of illness or behavioral problems
Education/Experience Required
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous Animal Handling experience
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with reasonable accommodations
- Basic computer knowledge on a Windows environment preferred
Work Conditions
Work in a high noise level area. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, animal feces, bites, scratches, etc. Physical efforts require constant bending, standing and lifting.
