Pet Tributes

The beautiful Wiley Dog:
It is with great unknown sadness that tonight I had to say goodbye to my beautiful baby. We were blessed with her for 8 ½ wonderful years and as in people cancer took her from us but we know the angels took her soul to a far better place-

From Wiley first picking me when I went to the adoption fair-all 6 pounds of her lovingly licking my face and falling quickly sleepily in my arms after I had filled out all the paperwork-Moments after leaving the fair, with her an official Wiley LaBarge did she start yapping, peeing and proceeded to get stuck in the car between the seat and the window-I knew it was going to be a fun ride-

Wiley loved to go shopping at Petsmart and ride in the cart up and down the aisles helping me pick out her favorite toys-Even when she, well, had so much fur she waddled at 50 pounds I was still expected to heave her into the shopping cart-and I did.

She loved people, her bed and bowl. Walks not so much-but was a trooper for some long Tahoe walks of which the below is my favorite of her and Doug after her first round of radiation treatment that put her cancer in remission and gave us 8 more months with her-including that walk on Rubicon trail with her mom and dad where Wiley surprised us all and climbed the boulders to the top with her daddy-

We don’t have children so you know how much this was my spoiled baby girl. Austrie misses her already-as do the cats. I want to thank all of you for being part of her life and no doubt she coaxed you into tossing her a biscuit or two or the whole box-

Appreciate all your love and support over the past weeks.

Max our Wonder Dog. Aussie Cattledog. Died of Cluster Seizures. We knew he was getting old. Didn't expect it this soon. 1998 to 2009 May he rest in peace. We miss him dearly.

If it should be ...
If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
and pain should keep me from my sleep,
then you must do what must be done,
for we know this last battle can't be won.

You will be sad, I understand,
but don't let grief then stay your hand,
for this day, more than the rest,
your love and friendship must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years,
what is to come can hold no fears.
Would you want me to suffer? So,
when the time comes, please let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend,
only stay with me until the end,
and hold me firm and speak to me,
until my eyes no longer see.

It is a kindness that you do to me,
although my tail it's last has waved,
from pain and suffering I have been saved.

Do not grieve, it should be you,
who must decide this thing to do.
We've been so close, we two these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

He had Valley Fever it started getting worse. Breathing was difficult but we continued to help support him. We had him creamated so that he will live forever with us. We will be forever lost without him. His smile. Quirky attitude. The way he nibbled my husbands nose. His way of comforting me when I needed it. He was my rock. May he find the peace.

Our sweet rescued dog of two weeks had to be put down today. She had the remnants of Kennel Cough. She was fine for the first week.

A few days ago, she was breathing extremely hard. We took her to the vet and they said that she had a lung infection. After further tests on her, they said to get her to the emergency animal clinic. That was the last I saw of her.

They took her back and put in a chest tube, a tube down her nose for oxygen and other things.

We received the call this morning that she was not doing very well. We had to make the call. It was the saddest most horrible thing I had to do. There was no help for her.

Just 2 days ago, she was playing and eating like crazy. Other than the hard breathing, you would have never know that she was sick.

So we lost our White German Shepherd at the age of 18 months. It was a very short lived 2 weeks. But we loved her like we had her forever.

Rest in peace my little angel. We will see you again some day.

We love you.

My three canine amigos cross the rainbow bridge within a 4 1/2 months period recently. They were between 12 and 13 1/2 years old. Luke, black labrador, passed 12/24/07, and his sister Chica passed 02/10/08. I had raised Luke as a puppy and Chica joined joined our family about age 2 even though they were born from the same litter. Both were born December 1995. Luke was a large dog with a very large heart and a kind gentle soul yet very confident and assertive as he knew his mama was always there for him, he was a true mama's boy. Chica was the most gentle feminine soul and I always felt she was a true angel up until her passing who always did as asked.

Lendl, a mixed dachshund, chihuahua, and terrier, wasborn November 1994 and he was 13 1/2 years old when he passed 05/15/08. As a 3 month-old puppy, I brought Lendl home to my previous labrador that unknowingly lived only 6 months before his passing. My little fellow, as I called him, met my previous lab, my two recent labs he grew old with, and my newly adopted rescued labrador before his passing - what a trooper he was. His size did not matter to him as he always thought he was in-charge. Coincidently somehow all of Lendl's friends were large dogs and many labradors.

All three were friendly and loving to other pets, cats or dogs. I will miss their companionship dearly as I try to go on and find other loving canines to help fill some of the void they left. They will never be replaced and I will always remember their absolute loyalty and friendship. What a pack they were. I pray God Bless them and they wait until we meet again. I also thank their vet that cared for them all their life's with me until the end, Dr. Robert Koch. He is the best.

Thank you for all your help to these loving creatures. If only we humans learn to appreciate and care for them as they do us.

I will always love Luke, Chica and Lendl (I list them in the order they passed) but I love them all the same.

I would like to pay tribute to our beloved HALO cat Ruby who passed away January 28, 2008.

Ruby was purchased at PetSmart in Chandler and quickly became a valued member of our family.

She had beautiful eyes and always had time to cuddle with us.

She enjoyed Temptations cat treats and loved to play. We will always miss the love she had for us all.

Ruby was our son's cat and he thinks of her often and prays for her. A couple of days after Ruby died our son, Cody, was outside praying for Ruby cat and he asked God for some sort of sign letting him know that Ruby was in Heaven. At that very next moment, Cody saw the brightest shooting star shoot across the sky. Ruby you will always be our shooting star.

Our family has purchased 5 cats from various HALO’s. We still have and cherish the remaining four. I would encourage anyone to adopt a cat or dog from the wonderful people at Valley HALO locations. There are many animals in this world that are lost and alone and they need your love and a home!

Please adopt a cat in honor of our Ruby. Thanks!

We love you Ruby Cat!!!!!!!

HALO helped us adopt Fred (aged 16 at the time) and Mopper (13) in May 2004 after their person passed away.

Fred lived until December 2006 and Mopper until December 2007.

They were wonderful additions to our family, we miss them, and we thank HALO for making it all possible.
