Hello and welcome to HALO's Top Dog Blog! This is a new feature to HALO's new and improved website!  Having a blog allows us to have more communication with the community we live in, we serve and that supports us.  We welcome your feedback and hope that you find this section useful.  Subscribe to our RSS feed and receive an update when a new blog is posted.

Thank you for all the support you've given HALO since 1994 to help us grow to where we're at.  We're part of Maricopa County, Arizona's life-saving network of rescue agencies here to help the homeless dogs and cats in this HUGE, 900 square mile community! Maricopa County is only second to Los Angeles County in terms of the number of animals that come in to our welfare system each year.  Close to 100,000 dogs and cats will call upon our community for help this year, and the next and the next.  It is up to all of us to decide how we want these animals cared for and to do our very best to provide them all a safe and loving place to call home.

    I think this website looks awesome!!! I am a Halo fan! Mazie, my pit, came from you all!!! She is SO awesome I don't know what I'd do without her!!! I look at this website almost every day!

    I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful job you guys do. I adopted my cat from you. We just adore him, I have never owned a cat with such rare personality he thinks he is a human and is very spunky... he is awesome!!! We get sad when we think what if you wouldn't have rescued him.. we can't imagine our lives without him. So thanks again for completing our family.

    Dont forget about the sale boutique of furniture and many more items located at 3833 W Danbury Drive. Glendale Arizona 85308. We are located three blocks north of bell road off of 39 ave. All proceeds go to the Halo animal rescue.
    This sale is Friday Saturday and Sunday from 9 - 2 p.m. Each week until the new year. Call the boutique for more information.
    Open house as well for hbome! Stop by and enjoy refreshments Christmas Carols and bring your truck we are all sure you will love the sale.

    I adopted a dog from HALO about 11 years ago and it was the best decision I've ever made when looking for that new family member. We adopted our boy Atticus, a black lab/chow mix, when he was a puppy. He was a friendly little guy who turned out to not be so little later. He was the best dog I've ever owned! Atticus was an Easter present for my kids but, in reality was an Easter present for ME. He grew up protecting and loving us for all of those 11 years. One of the saddest days came when we got the news from the vet that Atticus had developed a rapidly spreading bone cancer and had to be put down because of the severe pain he was in. The entire family was there when he went peacefully and we held him as he slipped away. I am forever grateful to HALO for bringing Atticus into our lives. He was not just a pet but, one of our family members!

    Dear Halo,

    I want to thank you for all your understanding. I came to you to adopt a forever friend. I took a very adorable little chihuahua home. Once we got there we figured out that mine was probably not the best home for him, as I have stairs and he was refusing to go up or down. With a sad heart I came back the next day with this little guy. It broke my heart but I new in order for both of us to have success he needed a different home then mine. Thats when I picked out Angel (her name was April, but she is my Angel) She is an amazing treasure. She is so good with my 7 year old daughter. She loves to play and run and at night she loves to burrow under the covers and sleep curled up next to me. She has become my vary best friend and I am so happy to have her. Thank you again for all your company does and for saving my precious little girl. Love Jenniffer and Angel

    My daughter adopted a dog and cat 10 years ago from Halo. They are both wonderful animals and are truly part of the family. Both pets were just a little bit of mixture of this and that. Now I find myself looking for a dog to replace my little dog that just died. Halo will be the first place I look.

    Hi I wanted to say what you people do at Halo is truly amazing! You are all wonderful people! To dedicate yourselves to all the animals is incredible! I truly think you are all very special! I am very happy I was able to meet some of you and your website rocks!
